The Feelies. Yaz. Polvo. Six Finger Satellite. My Bloody Valentine. Who didn’t get back together this year? A: Slowdive. Wired interviews Neil Halstead, who says “No, there are no plans to get Slowdive back together. We had a lot of pedals, a lot of love and some good grass. When the love ran out, we sold the grass and smoked the pedals.” Well, there’s always next year. (Also, why hasn’t Pitchfork, Stereogum, or someone else made a chart of all this years reunited bands. Each time I read the music blogs I find myself thinking, “Really? Them?”)

Also Swervedriver. Didn’t hear about the Feelies! Are they coming to Boston? Or did I already miss them? How was the Polvo show?

Tragic. Most disturbing are the screen captures of a cop entering his room that morning while the chat forum participants are still incapable of taking the situation seriously ("Zomg!" "Lol!") If anyone can be a celebrity, everyone has an opportunity to be Christine Chubbuck.

"The Scarecrow portrays the American farmer, while the Tin Man represents the workers, and the Cowardly Lion depicts William Jennings Bryan...in the original story Dorothy’s slippers were made of silver, not ruby, implying that silver was the Populists’ solution to the nation’s economic woes. Meanwhile, the Yellow Brick Road was the gold standard, and Toto (Dorothy’s faithful dog) represented the Prohibitionists, who were an important part of the silverite coalition.
